Where it sits in the set

Every figure below is counted from the 152 popups captured in the same pass, not from a benchmark report.

  • No number is stated up front. 29 of 152 popups do this, trading a known discount for the pull of finding out.
  • The field is behind a gate: a yes/no comes first. 76 of 152 popups (50%) gate the field, so this is the majority behaviour at the top of the market, not the exception.
  • Rendered by Recart, 7th by volume, accounting for 2 of the 152 popups.
  • It waits 17.1 seconds. The median timed popup in the set fires at 7.3s, so this one is slower than the middle, and 105 of 114 timed popups appear sooner.
  • On desktop the card covers 16% of the viewport, larger than 15% of the desktop captures.

This brand in The Handoff

Ridge also has an ad and landing page teardown in The Handoff, which is where this brand list came from. The handoff there is rated {'rating': 'Break', 'note': 'The founder letter names the prize pool out loud, a 610hp Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato, a 558hp Hennessey VelociRaptor, a fully loaded Ford Bronco GT and 100k cash, and closes on Enter for a chance to win at Ridge.com beside a 4X ENTRIES splat and a row of Ridge rings. The click lands on a page headlined OFFICIAL RULES, a six-button language selector sitting above abbreviated legal text that starts NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. There is no entry form, no prize imagery and no closing-soon urgency above the fold, and the only trace of the pool is the line Max Prizes total ARV: $380,000 USD inside the terms. An ad that says enter at Ridge.com should not land on the page that explains the rules of an entry it never offers.'}. Read the Ridge teardown.

How this was captured

Headless Chromium, US egress, fresh session, first visit. The page was loaded, scrolled, and on desktop given an exit-intent pass, with up to 32 seconds allowed for a timed popup. Nothing was typed into any form. Where a popup hid its field behind a yes/no or a quiz, a single click was allowed to reveal the next pane and no further, so "first field" means the first field a visitor actually sees. The same capture re-runs the week of Black Friday and this page gains a second column.
