Fellow ad teardown: Fellow

The ad promises fresher for up to 50% longer; the page highlight says Fresh 2x Longer, under a 10% off modal covering the Add to Cart.

Handoff: Partial

The creative is three clear canisters with matte black lids on a wood counter, filled with whole beans, the wordmark above and one claim line under it. The page is the correct product, Atmos Vacuum Canister at 79.95 USD, and its gallery is the same three vessels in the same finish, with the highlights row reading Three Styles and Three Sizes, which is exactly what the ad shows. Two things shift under the visitor. The freshness number changes: the ad says up to 50% longer, the page highlight says Fresh 2x Longer, so the same claim arrives twice at two different sizes. And a full Get 10% off email panel opens over the product title, the price and the Add to Cart, so the first ask on the page is an email address rather than a lid choice between the manual twist version and the electric one.

The read

A still life doing one job cleanly. Three sizes staged front to back establish the range without a size chart, the beans give the abstract idea of storage something to look at, and the single claim line is the only text competing with the wordmark. It is a category education ad more than an urgency ad: the buyer has to accept that bean storage is a problem before the canister is a solution.

Why it works

  • The number is the hook. Fresher is a feeling, up to 50% longer is a claim, and the claim is the only reason a viewer stops on a jar of coffee beans.
  • Three sizes pre answer the objection. Showing the range in one frame handles which one do I need before the click, which is the question that stalls storage purchases.
  • The claim should not move. Arriving on 2x longer after clicking 50% longer makes the visitor recalculate rather than reach for the button, even though the bigger number is the better one.

Objective fit

Purchase is right for a single accessory at 79.95 USD, but a cold viewer sold on freshness lands on a page whose first decision is manual versus electric, a fork the ad never set up.

Where it breaks

Pick one version of the number and use it in both places. A creative and a page quoting different figures for the same benefit reads as carelessness on a product whose whole pitch is precision.

Does your own handoff survive the click?
