Poppi ad teardown: Comment lto
Turns comment-section demand into a limited release, then advertises the release back to the people who asked.
“The flavour the comments kept asking for, made and dated.”

Page teardown
Entry describes a specific mechanic: a flavor requested repeatedly in comments becomes a dated limited release, with launch creative explicitly crediting the request. Reviewed all 44 poppi.sliced.json creatives and opened the plausible flavor-launch candidates (Sour Apple/'bobbi' UGC, Shirley Temple product shot, sour-apple graphic launch art, 'a little asmr to help you decide, comment below' grid). None credits a past comment-driven request - the ASMR grid asks viewers to comment to pick a flavor going forward, which is the inverse mechanic, and the Sour Apple/Shirley Temple launches are standard new-flavor announcements with no 'you asked for this' framing. The described ad is not present in this capture.
The read
Reported as a fans-before-consumers approach: recurring requests in comments become limited-time flavours, and the launch creative explicitly credits the request. The audience sees its own influence reflected, which is a different emotional transaction to being sold to.
Why it works
- Credited requests convert audience into participants. The buyer is collecting the outcome of something they took part in.
- Demand is validated before production. Comment volume is a cheap, honest read on what people will actually buy.
- Scarcity that costs no credibility. The run really is limited, so urgency is structural rather than manufactured.
Objective fit
Retention and winback. Aimed at an audience that already knows the brand. Shown cold it explains nothing.

Where it breaks
Only works while the responsiveness is real. Announce a comment-driven flavour that was already scheduled and the mechanism becomes theatre.
