Plant People ad teardown: problem agitation
A bedroom phone video of someone wide awake hands off to the Wonder Sleep melatonin free gummy page, behind an open and empty cart drawer.

Handoff: Partial
The frame shows a woman standing in a hallway at night pressing both hands to her face, so the only promise it makes is a bad night, and the page does answer that: Wonder Sleep Mushroom Gummies, zero sugar, no melatonin badged on the pouch, and a benefit column reading fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer, wake up clear headed. Two things get in the way of it. An empty Your cart drawer is open over the right column, covering the price and half of the product title, and the buy box defaults to Subscribe and Save 20% with Buy Once demoted underneath. An unbranded video that sold one rough night is offering a standing order before it has sold a first tub.
The read
This is organic shaped content: vertical, handheld, no lighting kit and no type burned into the frame. The performance is the whole ad, which means the caption above it carries the selling and the creative only has to buy the stop. It works cold precisely because nothing in the frame looks paid for.
What the ad does
- Nothing in the frame reads as paid. Vertical, handheld, no lighting kit, no type burned in, no logo and no product in shot. The scroll stops on a woman standing in a hallway at night pressing both hands to her face, which is a state anyone who has lain awake recognises faster than a sleep claim would ever land.
- Withholding the pouch moves the argument to the page. With no product in frame the ad only has to buy the stop, and the page has to do the selling: "Wonder Sleep Mushroom Gummies", a pouch badged "zero sugar, no melatonin", and a benefit column reading "fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer, wake up clear headed". The buy box then defaults to "Subscribe and Save 20%".
Objective fit
The buy box defaults to a discounted recurring plan, so the spend is buying subscribers rather than single tubs even though the creative never mentions a plan.
Plant People ran this subscription creative to the landing page it clicked through to, both captured August 2026. A bedroom phone video of someone wide awake hands off to the Wonder Sleep melatonin free gummy page, behind an open and empty cart drawer. Read as a pair, the handoff rates partial.

- What to fix: Check what a first-time visitor with no session actually renders, not what a logged-in browser shows you.

How this was evidenced
- Evidence
- Pair captured The ad and the page it clicked through to were both captured first-hand, and the destination recorded is the page the ad pointed at.
- Ad creative
- Captured August 2026
- Destination
- https://www.plantpeople.co/collections/all/products/wonder-sleep-mushroom-gummies Captured August 2026.
- Ad Library
- No permalink. This creative was observed running in-feed; Meta does not issue a stable public URL for a non-political ad, and purges it from the library once it stops running. The capture above is the record.
