The read
BrandMov flags the hook structure. The reference point is a molecule with existing search demand and an existing group of people who react badly to it. The ad intercepts a question already being asked.
Why it works
- Ingredient-level positioning intercepts real demand. People search ingredients, not brands, once they are past the beginner stage.
- The word 'alternative' presupposes dissatisfaction. It speaks only to people already looking to switch, which is efficient qualification.
- No competitor is named, so nothing is disputable. The rival is a compound.
Objective fit
Traffic. Ingredient-led claims need a page to substantiate them, so the ad's job is a qualified click.

Where it breaks
Ingredient claims in skincare attract both platform scrutiny and an audience that will fact-check you in the comments.
