Bushbalm ad teardown: Bushbalm

A cropped bikini line stamped GOOD lands on the Congrats collection, a paged grid that leads with Dark Spot Oil and a code to type.

“GOOD”

Handoff: Partial

The ad is a tight crop: a red swim bottom, a bare bikini line, a hand at the strap and a smear of white product worked into the skin, with the single word GOOD set at the bottom. The page keeps that register, the hero reads The Bikini Line Skincare Experts over three women in swimwear holding a scrub tub and a trimmer, so the click feels like the right shop. What it does not keep is the specific. The first three tiles are Dark Spot Oil, Dark Spot Scrub and the 2-Step Dark Spot Routine in Wild Mint & Lemon, nothing tells the visitor which jar was on the skin in the ad, and the 20% arrives as code H372 to type rather than a price already cut.

The read

A tight crop of a bikini line in a red swim bottom, one hand at the strap, a pale smear of product worked into the skin. The only type on the frame is GOOD, set heavy and outlined near the bottom, which reads as the second half of a bad and good pair the viewer never sees. No product, no price, no logo, so the skin has to carry the whole pitch.

Why it works

  • The crop is the interrupt. A bikini line at this scale stops a feed in a way a packshot on white never will, and the skin becomes the proof instead of the label.
  • GOOD implies a BAD you did not see. One word does the work of a full comparison, because the viewer supplies the bumpy version from memory.
  • No product shot keeps the promise broad. Nothing on the frame commits to a jar, which lets one creative serve a whole range but hands the choosing job to the landing page.

Objective fit

The destination is a discounted collection with Add to Bag on every tile and a code in the hero, so this is written to sell rather than to introduce the brand.

Where it breaks

A creative that names no product forces the page to name one, and a paged grid of two dozen tiles is a poor place to do that. A single hero product, or the concern filter surfaced above the grid, would carry the ad's promise further than a code.

Does your own handoff survive the click?
