Brooklinen ad teardown: Luxe split king packshot
Three near-identical ivory packshots for one split king sheet set, carrying no on-image text at all and letting a price objection in the copy do every bit of the arguing.
“Other brands say they're 50% cheaper - and boy will you feel it.”

Handoff: Break
The destination does not exist. Requesting /products/luxe-split-king-sheet-set lands on the Brooklinen homepage, so the split king SKU that three near-identical ivory packshots were built to sell cannot be reached from the ad. The hook is a price objection, Other brands say they're 50% cheaper and boy will you feel it, and the page answers with the unrelated superlative BEST. SHEETS. EVER. over a deliberately blurred bed. No price appears anywhere to settle the argument the ad started, only free shipping on orders $100 or more in the rotating bar, and split king is not named in the subhead, which offers Classic Percale & Luxe Sateen at category level.
The read
Brooklinen runs 23 statics against roughly 230 active ads, a much heavier static share than most consumer accounts of that size. Three of those 23 are the same ivory Luxe Sateen split king set on the same pale grey field, differing only in framing: one shot tight and centered with a rolled sheet on top, one wide and flat with a pillowcase laid across, one small and off-centre in a large empty field. All three route to the same product page. None of the three carries a headline, a badge or a price, so the whole argument sits in the primary text, and here that text opens on a competitor price comparison rather than on the product. The other two cuts open instead on Better sleep starts here, which means the same silent frame is being run against two different opening arguments.
What the ad does
- The frame is the variable, not the message. Three of Brooklinen's 23 statics are the same ivory Luxe Sateen split king set on the same pale grey field, differing only in framing: tight and centered with a rolled sheet on top, wide and flat with a pillowcase laid across, small and off-centre in a large empty field. Composition is the only thing under test.
- One silent frame, two opening arguments. This cut opens on Other brands say they're 50% cheaper, the other two open on Better sleep starts here. With no headline, badge or price burned into the image, whichever line runs above it is the entire hook, and the same photograph is being asked to carry both a value defence and a discovery pitch.
- The objection leads and nothing catches it. Requesting the split king product URL lands on the Brooklinen homepage, where BEST. SHEETS. EVER. sits over a deliberately blurred bed, no price appears anywhere to settle the argument the ad started, and the subhead offers Classic Percale & Luxe Sateen at category level.
Objective fit
Conversion / Purchase. All three cuts route to the split king product page, a specific and relatively high ticket item, and the copy sells on value defence rather than on discovery, which is a returning-visitor argument.
Brooklinen ran this conversion creative to the landing page it clicked through to, both captured August 2026. Variants of the same system (3)
Three separate active ads, one product, one backdrop, three framings and two different opening lines of copy. Observed 2026-08-19.
Wide flat stack with pillowcase across the top
Small off-centre stack in a large white-grey field
White linen quilt bundle, same silent treatment, different SKUWhat to fix
Fix the destination before this set runs again. Requesting the split king product URL lands on the Brooklinen homepage, so the SKU three near-identical packshots were built to sell cannot be reached from the ad at all. Then thin the set: three near-identical crops inside one ad set split delivery rather than expand it, and split king is a narrow product to be spending three creatives on.
