Body Candy ad teardown: specificity into purchase
A bare catalogue packshot carrying no price and no logo lands on a $104.99 nose ring page whose countdown bar sells a different discount.

Handoff: Break
The ad is a single nose bone on white: a silver post, a four prong setting and a black stone, with no headline, no price, no logo and no offer anywhere in the frame. The page is the matching item, Solid 14K White Gold 1.5mm Genuine Black Diamond Nose Ring, so the product handoff itself is exact. The offer is where it comes apart. This ad's library copy sells 50% off every piece with code BF2025, while the page prints Best Deal of Year 40% OFF everything with USE CODE: CANDY on a three hour countdown, and the item reads $104.99 from $164.99. On load a cart drawer and an Enhance Your Look panel also sit over the product title and part of the buy box.
The read
There is nothing to read. The creative is a catalogue photograph at feed size, lit on white with no crop, no model and no type, so every claim in the ad lives in the caption rather than the image. That makes the frame endlessly reusable across a large SKU count and completely dependent on the text beside it.
What the ad does
- Catalogue economics. One packshot per SKU, lit on white with no crop, no model and no type, lets a retailer with thousands of items advertise all of them without producing anything new, and it puts every claim in the caption where it can be swapped without a reshoot.
- The offer drifted and the creative could not tell. The library copy sells 50% off every piece with code BF2025 while the page prints Best Deal of Year 40% OFF everything with USE CODE: CANDY on a three hour countdown, and the item itself reads $104.99 from $164.99. Nothing in the frame ages, so nothing flags the mismatch.
Objective fit
For a purchase ad a packshot pointed straight at its own product page is the right shape. It only holds while the caption and the page agree on the discount, and here they do not.
Body Candy ran this conversion creative to the landing page it clicked through to, both captured August 2026. A bare catalogue packshot carrying no price and no logo lands on a $104.99 nose ring page whose countdown bar sells a different discount. Read as a pair, the handoff rates break.

How this was evidenced
- Evidence
- Pair captured The ad and the page it clicked through to were both captured first-hand, and the destination recorded is the page the ad pointed at.
- Ad creative
- Captured August 2026
- Destination
- https://www.bodycandy.com/products/solid-14kt-white-gold-1-5mm-genuine-black-diamond-nose-ring Captured August 2026.
- Ad Library
- No permalink. This creative was observed running in-feed; Meta does not issue a stable public URL for a non-political ad, and purges it from the library once it stops running. The capture above is the record.
What to fix
Tie the caption code to the live sitewide promotion, or drop the code from the caption and let the page carry it, because the ad currently names 50% off with code BF2025 while the page runs 40% OFF with USE CODE: CANDY on a three hour countdown. Suppress the cart drawer and the Enhance Your Look panel on a paid landing too, since both sit over the product title and part of the buy box.
