BetterBrand ad teardown: problem agitation into purchase
A rendered airway split into clogged and clear sells mullein against mucus, then the lung gummy page opens under a scratch to win overlay.
“THE 'AHEM' THAT NEVER STOPS? MUCUS. MULLEIN HELPS CLEAR IT FOR GOOD.”

Handoff: Partial
The green pouch in the ad reads MULLEIN GUMMIES and the page is that product, BetterLungs Mullein Gummies, with a Breathe Better, Live Clearer band, a pharmacist founder section and a one week to six month timeline whose first column names clearer breathing and natural mucus clearance. The break is at the top. The hero is replaced by a dark green Scratch Here card, so the first thing to do after clicking an ad about mucus is play a scratch off game, and the product image, price and add to cart all sit behind it. Trust badges and a shipping countdown are the first real page content the visitor reaches.
The read
The creative runs a before and after inside a single frame: a clogged airway on the left, a clear one on the right, and gummies walking from one into the other. It names the symptom in the largest type on the frame, then names the ingredient that resolves it, which is a complete argument in six words. The medical render buys back the seriousness the gummy bears would otherwise spend.
What the ad does
- Symptom first, ingredient second. "MUCUS" is the word people already use and "MULLEIN" is the word they have to learn, and the headline puts them in that order, which fits a complete argument into six words before any product is shown.
- The render carries the mechanism. A clogged airway beside a clear one, with amber gummies walking from one into the other, shows what the product is supposed to do without a claim sentence anyone has to defend, and the page picks it up in a timeline naming clearer breathing and natural mucus clearance.
Objective fit
A first purchase on a single item, with the page adding chlorophyll variants and a 365 day guarantee once the visitor is already there.
BetterBrand ran this conversion creative to the landing page it clicked through to, both captured August 2026. A rendered airway split into clogged and clear sells mullein against mucus, then the lung gummy page opens under a scratch to win overlay. Read as a pair, the handoff rates partial.

- What to fix: Take the scratch card off the hero for this ad set. A visitor who has just accepted a health claim about mucus has to play a game before reaching the product image, the price or the add to cart on BetterLungs Mullein Gummies.

How this was evidenced
- Evidence
- Pair captured The ad and the page it clicked through to were both captured first-hand, and the destination recorded is the page the ad pointed at.

- Destination
- https://www.trybetterbrand.com/collections/gummies/products/betterlungs-r-mullein-gummies Captured August 2026.
- Ad Library
- No permalink. This creative was observed running in-feed; Meta does not issue a stable public URL for a non-political ad, and purges it from the library once it stops running. The capture above is the record.
What to fix
Take the scratch card off the hero for this ad set. A visitor who has just accepted a health claim about mucus has to play a game before reaching the product image, the price or the add to cart on BetterLungs Mullein Gummies. In this category the page also has to restate the claim carefully, and at the moment the small print at the foot is doing that on its own.
