Key takeaways

The DTC Deal Index is a free, read-only MCP server at https://taylorsicard.com/mcp. Connect it to ChatGPT, Claude or any MCP client and your assistant can look up consumer brand deals and earnings, read the welcome offers DTC brands show new visitors, run six of the calculators from /tools, and audit a store’s homepage. Every answer comes from a page on this site and links back to it.

  • Deals cover acquisitions, funding rounds, IPOs and shutdowns of consumer brands since 2020, and earnings are quarterly results by name or ticker.
  • Welcome offers come from the September 2026 capture behind the DTC Welcome Offer Tracker.
  • The calculators run the code from the tool pages, so the server and the page can’t disagree.
  • There is no sign-in. Each tool call logs the time, the tool, whether it answered and the client’s user-agent string; a store audit also logs the store address.

02 What it can do

Deals and earnings

  • search_consumer_dealsAcquisitions, funding rounds, IPOs and shutdowns of consumer brands since 2020. Filter by name, category, date and deal size.
  • get_brand_deal_historyEvery deal recorded for one brand, and who acquired it last.
  • get_acquirer_activityThe most active buyers of consumer brands, or one buyer's full list. Counted by deal, so an announcement and its close count once.
  • get_earnings_summaryQuarterly results for public consumer companies, by name or ticker.

Welcome offers

  • get_brand_welcome_offerThe popup a brand showed a first-time visitor on desktop and on a phone: the offer, what it asks for, when it appears, the vendor and the headline.
  • get_welcome_offer_benchmarksHow common each offer type is, the median percent off, gates, triggers and vendors, with example brands.

Calculators, with the same math as the pages in /tools

  • calculate_break_even_roasBreak-even ROAS

The full audit, with Core Web Vitals, is at /tools/shopify-store-audit.

03 Try asking
  • Who bought the most beauty brands since 2023?
  • What’s Olaplex’s deal history?
  • What welcome offer does Brooklinen show new visitors?
  • My AOV is $72 and my contribution margin is 38%. What ROAS do I need to break even?
  • Audit allbirds.com and tell me the three biggest fixes.
  • What did e.l.f. Beauty report last quarter?
04 Where the data comes from

Deals and earnings come from the trackers in The Index and refresh each time the trackers are published. A row reaches the server only once it is on a published tracker page. The welcome offers come from the September 2026 capture behind the DTC Welcome Offer Tracker. The calculators run the code from the tool pages, so the server and the page can’t disagree. If you want your own brand read against this data, that is what The Read is for. The server stays free either way.

05 Privacy and support

The server reads public data and never asks who you are. For each tool call it logs the time, the tool, whether it answered and the user-agent string of your assistant’s software. For a store audit it also logs the store address. The privacy page has the detail.
