Five of seven live statics run one student angle, and three of them go to a dedicated student page while the other two go to the same product page as everything else.

“PROTECT YOUR HAIR & SKIN AGAINST CAMPUS WATER / YOUR DORM ROOM ESSENTIAL, 20% OFF”

Handoff: Continuous

The ad's second line is YOUR DORM ROOM ESSENTIAL, 20% OFF and the page headline is YOUR CAMPUS ESSENTIAL, 20% OFF, the same construction with one noun swapped. The ad's campus water argument is restated in the bullets as a clinically proven filter that removes chlorine and other contaminants that dry out and dull hair and skin, backed by a 775,000+ customer line. The one gap is that the ad's chrome showerhead never appears, the page runs a bathroom portrait instead, so a student who has not seen a Jolie before cannot see what they are buying above the fold.

The read

Seven statics were live on 19 August 2026 out of eighteen active ads, and five of them started on the same day, 13 August, three weeks before the semester. All five run one argument: campus plumbing is old, old plumbing puts chlorine and other contaminants into your shower, students get 20% off. The anchor is a chrome head on white subway tile with trailing eucalyptus, a small caps line reading PROTECT YOUR HAIR & SKIN AGAINST CAMPUS WATER over YOUR DORM ROOM ESSENTIAL, 20% OFF, then a pull-quote in quotation marks about the stealth installation of Jolie shower filters into shared dorm bathrooms being increasingly common, and a dark Shop Jolie for 20% off button rendered into the image. The other four rotate the same argument through different framings: a grey tiled wall asking ARE YOU A STUDENT?, a waffle curtain pulled back asking READY FOR BETTER HAIR AND SKIN THIS SEMESTER?, a woman shampooing under a monstera leaf, and the sharpest of the set, a warm beige profile shot headlined YOUR CAMPUS PIPES ARE OLDER THAN YOU ARE. Body copy is near-identical across all five. The destinations are not. Three land on a dedicated student discount page and two, including the campus pipes execution, land on the standard showerhead product page.

Why it works

  • The discount needs a reason and the plumbing supplies it. Twenty percent off for students is a segment price, which normally reads as a margin decision. Attaching it to a specific defect in the buyer's building turns it into a reason to act now rather than a coupon to save for later.
  • Three of five get a page built for the angle, two do not. A dedicated student page can carry the eligibility mechanics and the campus framing that a general product page cannot. Two creatives skip it, and one of those is the strongest headline in the set, which is the kind of split that usually means the routing was set per creative rather than per campaign.
  • The date is doing as much work as the offer. All five launched 13 August into the narrow window where a student is buying for a room they have not moved into yet. The product is a fifteen minute install that needs no landlord permission, which is exactly the constraint dorm buyers have.

Objective fit

Conversion / Purchase. Every creative uses Shop Now and the flow ends at either a product page with an add to cart or a student page holding the same purchase. Nothing here collects an email or offers a quiz, so the ad is expected to close a first purchase on a single visit, with the segment discount standing in for a first-order offer.

Variants of the same system (4)

Four further statics from the same 13 August 2026 student flight, all sharing near-identical body copy. Two continue to the dedicated student page, two resolve to the standard showerhead product page. Observed 2026-08-19.

Where it breaks

A student rate almost always implies a verification step, and verification is friction that lands after the click rather than before it. If the student page asks for a .edu address or an enrollment check that the creative never mentioned, the two ads pointed at the general product page are actually the smoother path, and the three pointed at the dedicated page will convert worse despite the better match. Worth also flagging that the two copy blocks in this account cite different figures for the same product, 73% experienced reduced acne in the student set against 71% Experienced Less Acne in the evergreen set. Both are quotable as printed, but a buyer who reads one and lands on a page repeating the other has a reason to doubt both.

Does your own handoff survive the click?
